“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain” (1 Cor.15:10). God is in the business of changing lives as He did personally for me at the age of seventeen. In a dark world with such confusion, immorality, insecurity, and depression, I thank God that the potent message of the cross that transformed my life, remains the single remedy for all the woes of humanity. The LRBC family is one of the most dedicated groups of God’s people I’ve ever been around, taking serious the authority of God’s word, and His mandate to carry this life-changing gospel to a needy world. By the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ let us remain “steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…” (1 Cor.15:58)

There is no one too far gone to be saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and I thank God that he saved me in January of 2001. With all the conflicting messages coming from churches in our community and around the world, I thank God that the young lady that led me to Jesus gave me a Bible to learn what God said and it is my desire to share what that Bible says with PHBM and the Community of Pleasant Hill. Seasons change, ideals change, but the Word of God shall stand forever and I pray that as a church, we will always stand upon the Word of God. ‘Yea, let God be true, but every man a liar’ – Romans 3:4 – Bro. Adam

“Teach me thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore. For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.” – Psalm 86:11-13

When God changed my life, it was a radical rescue from the darkness of an afflicted life without Him. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 became my new mission for His kingdom. Because He is “the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God”, I devoted my life to helping others. I left my career of 20 yrs and started working in ministry and shortly after I was ordained as a minister of the Gospel. After years of counseling and ministering to others, I’m blessed to join Lantana Road Baptist Church as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator where I can teach the love of God to the generations to come.

Hi, my name is Michael Shinn. I am so glad the Lord has called me to serve LRBC as “Music Minister”. I entered into a relationship with Jesus in March of 2000. I love the Lord and His church, and I love serving the people here. Leading in worship is a job that I love to do. I look forward to serving LRBC as long as the Lord allows. I am pleased to be part of the ministry team at Lantana Road Baptist Church. Keep the “Music Ministry” in your prayers. We can only serve as the Holy Spirit gives the ability and strength.

I am what I am, because of Him, His amazing grace!
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
I, a vile sinner, can stand before a righteous God only because of Jesus and His work on the cross. It is nothing that I did or will ever do; BUT because of His grace! I will never get over what Jesus my Lord and Savior did for me!!!

I am a native of Crossville and that is something I cherish. The rich history and local colloquialisms here are special, and I feel blessed to have been and continue to be a part of them. Family is very important to me. My husband, Bud, and I have been married for 30 plus years and he keeps me grounded through his love for Jesus. We have 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.

In Matthew 28, 19-20, Jesus gives us a direct command to GO! He died for the sins of people from all nations and we are to go—whether it is to our next-door neighbor or to another country—and make disciples! As we obey him, we have comfort in knowing that Jesus is always with us wherever He leads us to go. Serving Him is one of the biggest blessings in my life.
